ReviewMyTool earns money through affiliate commissions, sponsored content, and paid placements. This page explains exactly how — and why it never affects what we recommend.
Last Updated: May 2026An affiliate link is a special URL that contains a tracking code identifying ReviewMyTool as the referral source. When you click an affiliate link and visit a tool’s website, a cookie is stored in your browser. If you then sign up for a paid plan — usually within 30–90 days — the tool’s affiliate programme records that the sale came from us and pays us a commission.
The commission is paid by the tool company, not by you. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you click through our link or go directly to the tool’s website.
Affiliate tracking is a standard practice used across the internet. It is how tool companies attribute sales to the publishers, bloggers, and reviewers who send them customers.
Affiliate links appear throughout ReviewMyTool — in tool reviews, comparison pages, best-of lists, and blog posts. Whenever you see a button labelled “Visit Jasper AI”, “Try Semrush Free”, “Get Ahrefs”, or similar, that is typically an affiliate link.
We identify pages containing affiliate links with a disclosure notice near the top of the page, clearly stating that affiliate links are present. This page itself is part of that disclosure.
We do not hide affiliate links or disguise them as something else. If you are ever unsure whether a link is an affiliate link, you can email us at info@reviewmytool.com and we will tell you.
ReviewMyTool generates revenue through several streams. We are transparent about all of them:
Our primary revenue source. We earn a commission when readers click our links and sign up for paid plans. Commissions range from 20% to 40% of the first payment depending on the tool.
Tool companies can pay to have their product reviewed and published on ReviewMyTool. Payment does not guarantee a positive review — we publish our honest findings.
We accept paid guest posts from writers and companies in the AI, SEO, and marketing space. Guest posts include a do-follow link and are clearly published content from the author.
We offer paid link insertions within existing content and banner advertising across the site. These are clearly commercial arrangements and do not affect our editorial reviews.
We work with affiliate programmes for the tools we review and recommend. Below is a representative list of the programmes we participate in:
This list is not exhaustive. We may participate in additional affiliate programmes not listed here. If you want to know whether a specific link is affiliated, contact us at info@reviewmytool.com.
No. Affiliate commissions and paid arrangements do not influence our ratings, scores, verdicts, or recommendations. This is not just a legal statement — it is how we actually operate.
Tools cannot pay for a better rating, a higher ranking, or positive editorial treatment. Our scores are based entirely on our hands-on testing methodology — which you can read in full on our How We Review page.
When you purchase a tool through an affiliate link on ReviewMyTool, you pay exactly the same price as if you had gone directly to the tool’s website. Affiliate commissions are paid by the tool company out of their marketing budget — not added to your bill.
In some cases, we are able to negotiate exclusive discount codes or extended free trials for our readers. Where these are available, we will display them clearly on the relevant review page. These deals are always at least as good as what you would find going direct.
In addition to organic affiliate-driven reviews, ReviewMyTool publishes sponsored content — reviews, articles, and placements that have been paid for by the tool company or a third party.
Sponsored reviews are written to the same standard as our organic reviews. We test the tool, document our findings, and publish our honest assessment. Payment covers our time and testing costs — it does not buy a positive outcome. If a sponsored tool is not good, we will say so.
Sponsored guest posts are written by the sponsor or a writer they commission. We review these for quality and relevance but the opinions expressed are those of the author, not necessarily ReviewMyTool.
We label commercial content clearly so you always know what you are reading:
If you are ever unsure whether content is paid or organic, email us and we will tell you directly.
ReviewMyTool was built on the idea that honest, independent reviews are more valuable than paid promotion disguised as editorial content. We believe readers can tell the difference, and we believe our long-term success depends on earning your trust.
This disclosure is made in accordance with the FTC’s guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255) and equivalent regulations in other jurisdictions.
Ask us directly. We will tell you honestly whether a link is affiliated and why we recommended what we did.
